The Cape Cod Bracelet Accents Any Occasion

The Cape Cod bracelet was named after the place where it was first created. The original design was developed by John Carey over thirty years ago. This simple yet elegant design adds beauty and class to any wardrobe. This is not the typical bangle loop. These pieces can be personalized making it the perfect gift for any occasion. As a matter of fact these are one of the top sellers for wedding attendant gifts.

Simple Design

People from all over the world have made this bracelet a highly sought after accessory. This jewelry item is made of a single silver or gold wire which is held together by a single contrasting metal ball. The ball screws on to either end of the bracelet. This is why there are times it is called the screw ball bracelet. The locals in Cape Cod call it the Dennis Bracelet. For years the only people who had one were residents of Dennis. To this day you can only get the original design by going to the little mom and pop store located on Route 6A in Dennis.

Manufactured Individually

The store is open from mid May to December. People line up to have their bracelets custom made. Even though there are times a customer waits in line for more than an hour, the time spent is worth it to everyone who receives their jewelry. Because the jewelry is manufactured for each individual the wrist size is extremely important. The bracelet is made to fit comfortably on the wrist without hitting the wrist bone. The bracelet is loose fitting but does not swirl around the wrist. It stays in place with the chosen accent ball resting on top of the wrist.

Several years ago the Cape Cod bracelet actually made its debut on television. In the show "Felicity" an actress from Dennis, Amy Jo Johnson, was spotted wearing her bracelet. She reportedly wore the piece for five years without ever taking it off. When someone saw the simple beauty and elegance of the design, everyone started wanting one. This made the little store in Dennis a very busy place.

You Can't Get It Anywhere Else

Eden Hand Arts does not sell their creations on the Internet. They do not ship any items. Neither do they sell by mail order. As a matter of fact, this store does not even advertise. All the business they do is by word of mouth. The only way to obtain one of the famous bracelets is to go to the shop and have one made. Everyone who has the Cape Cod bracelet says it is the perfect gift for anyone.

John Carey used to make each and every bracelet by himself. The demand became so great he had to enlist the help of his family. The time it takes to make one bracelet is about an hour. Now the jewelry is made by John's son-in-law, Edward. John is now 82 years old and is proud of his Cape Cod bracelets. He still creates things to sell in the store.

There are knock offs of the bracelet in many places. The original is still only available in the little store in Dennis.
